About Us

Chris and I have been married 17 years and have three great boys. Seth is 14 and Kyle and Caleb are almost nine, and even though they are identical twins they are as different as night and day. Our family also includes cats, a chicken and a snake. It does get a little crazy here sometimes but isn't that what keeps life fun?!?

Backyard Fun

It's a trampoline lightsaber battle - Kyle, Caleb & Jacob are really battling it out.

Seth and Joseph are playing a no-net version of volleyball while Jacob looks on.

This is Caleb's creative way to get onto the trapeze bar. He likes to sit up there and pretend he's Tweety Bird but I was making dinner and couldn't come right out so his solution was to use the ladder to the trampoline to climb up.

We grilled some hamburgers Saturday night and invited some friends and family over and all the kids wanted to go swimming. This is Ryan, Becca Bell, Seth and Joseph having a great time despite the cold water. Ryan kept saying that the water was freezing but yet he stayed in.

The best things about our new house

I think our favorite thing about our new house is the backyard. The kids spend most of their time playing outside. They jump on the trampoline, play on the jungle gym, ride bikes & scooters, play ball and the list goes on. They used to come in when it got dark but since Grandpa, Uncle Richard and Uncle Roger installed new lighting out there they stay outside until it's time for baths and bed. The other favorite thing about our new house is the friends we have made. The kids play with their cousins (on the Standage side) who live across the street, almost everyday and the boys next door come over several times a week as well. Seth has even joined Boy Scouts with Cole, who lives next door. They are also enjoying the pool. Personally I think the water is still too cold to swim (it was 72º on Saturday) but the kids don't seem to mind. The kids have never been so dirty or so tired as they have been since we've moved here. It's so great! They get to go out and just be kids and we couldn't ask for more than that.

Easter 2008

Before heading off to church the kids looked for their Easter eggs. The Easter Bunny had a lot of good hiding spots this year and it was a week later before we found the last egg.

After church we had our family Easter get together at our house. Easter has traditionally been at Uncle Ronald's house but they were in the process of re-doing the patio in the backyard and everything was a mess. We were glad that we were able to have everyone over. In the past our house wasn't a good party spot but the new house has a huge patio and yard that's perfect of a get-together.

After lunch we had our traditional Easter Olympic Games. Everyone was encouraged to play but a few found it more fun to watch. Events included:

Eating a donut from a string w/o using your hands Egg on a spoon relay Water balloon toss Free throw shots Golf ball toss (into a bucket)

The winner of each event got a couple of plastic eggs. Some eggs had quarters in them, some had dollars and some were empty. I think that everyone had a good time even if they didn't win anything.

After everyone left the boys decided they wanted to go swimming. It had been in the mid-80's and was warm out in the sun but the water in the pool was only about 70º. Seth stayed in for about 20 minutes and Kyle & Caleb stayed in about 45 minutes. I think they're crazy. I have no desire to go in until the water is at least 85º!

Welcome to our blog!!

I have been thinking about doing a blog for awhile now but wasn't really motivated until Vanessa got one done. Since she has a technology phobia and managed to get one put together I figured I better do one too.

Enjoy !
